Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain was released from Tihar Jail on Friday after being granted bail. Following his release, Satyendar Jain quipped at Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, saying, "Atishi returned after studying at Harvard, but she will also have to go to jail... We will continue to fight against injustice." Jain was greeted by Atishi, Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and other AAP leaders as he stepped out of the prison, sharing hugs with Sisodia and Singh before waving to the assembled supporters. His release was granted on the basis of delays in the trial's commencement and his extended period of incarceration.

Addressing AAP supporters gathered outside the jail, the former Delhi minister stated, "Sanjay ji, Kejriwal ji, Manish ji, and I are out now, we will do all the work and show now." He further shared an anecdote, "A doctor standing with me said he did not understand why I was arrested. He said, 'We know you well; you have never done anything wrong.'"

Satyendar Jain, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in March 2022 in a money laundering case, accused the authorities of targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to prevent the common man from entering politics. He asserted, "The common man joining politics could disrupt their corrupt operations, so they put us in jail. They are giving the country’s resources to just two people, while Arvind Kejriwal ji is working for everyone. This fight is between a government that serves two people and Arvind Kejriwal’s vision."

Speaking on the political rivalry, the AAP leader alleged, "They (other politicians) want to defame Arvind Kejriwal ji and make him appear like them. But it is not so. If that were the case, Arvind Kejriwal ji would never have gone to jail; he would have backed down instead."

'Truth Has Prevailed': Delhi CM Atishi On Satyendar Jain's Bail

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who was present at the jail to welcome Jain, commented on his release, stating, "Satya ki vijay hui hai" (Truth has prevailed).

AAP leader Manish Sisodia echoed the sentiment, saying, "It is a matter of great happiness, our hero has returned".

Jain also alleged that his arrest aimed to stall the AAP government's initiatives, including the Mohalla Clinics and the Yamuna river cleaning project. He maintained that he and other AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh, were detained as part of an effort to deter common citizens from participating in politics. "We will continue our fight against injustice and work for the common man," he declared, as he addressed the gathering of AAP leaders and workers outside Tihar Jail.
