Delhi Woman Arrested For Murder After Evading Arrest For Months
In a separate case, a 25-year-old woman, Rozida, who had been on the run for months, was arrested on New Year’s Eve in Delhi. She was held in the Naraina area of west Delhi. On October 2, 2022, an altercation between two groups in Moti Nagar, west Delhi, resulted in the death of Shahnawaz. Following the incident, several individuals, including Azad and three minors, were arrested. However, Rozida and another accused, Ajju, managed to escape. Consequently, a non-bailable warrant was issued against Rozida, police said, as per news agency PTI.
Investigation revealed that Rozida had fled to Bihar. Later, it was discovered that she might return to Delhi to meet her children on New Year’s Eve. On December 31, the police team tracked her near Naraina and arrested her near Satya Park. During interrogation, Rozida confessed to her involvement in the murder. She admitted that she, along with her associates, had assaulted Shahnawaz and another person, Nafees, with the intention of killing them. Rozida had fled to her native village in Madhubani, Bihar, where she had been living under a false identity.
