Lutyens' Delhi has been placed on high alert as demonstrations by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and the Youth Congress gather momentum in the national capital.
According to PTI, Delhi Police have deployed personnel at multiple locations to manage the protests and prevent any disruption to law and order.
A multi-layered security arrangement has been put in place across key areas, including Connaught Place, Jantar Mantar, Rafi Marg, Parliament Street and other sensitive locations, sources said.
16 Delhi Metro Stations Closed
As part of the security measures, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has closed 16 Metro stations across central Delhi on Wednesday.
The stations that have been shut are:
- Lok Kalyan Marg
- Rajiv Chowk
- Patel Chowk
- Ramakrishna Ashram Marg
- Barakhambha Road
- Supreme Court
- Seva Teerth
- Janpath
- Mandi House
- Central Secretariat
- ITO
- Delhi Gate
- Indraprastha
- Khan Market
- Jor Bagh
- Shivaji Stadium
Authorities have not specified when the stations will reopen.

Police Step Up Security Across Central Delhi
Additional police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at major intersections and other vulnerable locations across the city.
Anti-riot units, quick reaction teams and reserve forces have also been kept on standby to respond to any untoward incident.
Security has been strengthened around Parliament, important government buildings and other vital installations in the Lutyens' Delhi area.

Vehicle Checks, Frisking Intensified
Police teams have intensified vehicle checks and frisking at strategic locations as part of the heightened security arrangements.
Security at Metro stations and other public places has also been enhanced to ensure public safety during the protests.
Officials said adequate measures had been put in place to deal with any situation arising from the demonstrations and appealed to organisers and participants to maintain peace and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
