Delhi Double Murder: A man and his nephew were shot dead while they were celebrating Diwali right outside their house in Delhi's Shahdara on Thursday. It has now come to the fore that the murder plot had been hatched 17 days ago by a 17-year-old boy over a monetary dispute. He has now been detained by the police.
The incident took place in the Bihari Colony in Farsh Bazar area around 8 PM and claimed the lives of a 44-year-old Akash Sharma and his 16-year-old nephew Rishabh Sharma, leaving the the national capital in shock. Akash Sharma's 10-year-old son Krish also sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at a hospital.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV. In the video, 44-year-old Akash Sharma and his newphew were seen bursting firecrackers on a narrow road outside their house. The 17-year-old boy came on a two-wheeler and even touched the feet and greeted him on Diwali, while the shooter, who was lingering around the house, stood next to his scooter.
The shooter then fired around five bullets at Sharma, killing him and injuring his 10-year-old son. When his nephew realised what had happened he ran after the shooters to catch him. But he was also shot dead by the gunman. It has now been revealed that the shooter was not supposed to kill Akash Sharma's nephew but shot at him to save himself from getting caught. Sources told ABP that the shooter had been trying to kill Akash Sharma for the past two-three days.
The minor had to take Rs 70,000 which he had lent to Akash Sharma. However, when the latter began avoiding his calls, refused to meet him, and did not repay the sum, the teenager became furious and began planning Sharma's murder.
The police are currently looking for the absconding shooter, while the minor is being interrogated. The minor had previously been booked under a case of attempt to murder, while Akash too had six cases against him. His brother Yogesh Sharma, Rishabh's father, also had 14 cases registered against him.
