As many as 12 iPhone 16 Pro Max from a group of four passengers trying to smuggle from Dubai were seized by Customs on October 1 at the Delhi Airport.
"Customs at IGI Airport, Delhi seized 12 iPhone 16 Pro Max from a group of four passengers who were trying to smuggle these iPhones from Dubai on October 1, " Customs told news agency ANI.
Similarly, on Wednesday, a total of 26 iPhone 16 Pro Max phones, launched recently, have been seized from a woman passenger at the Delhi Airport. The woman had concealed the phones inside her vanity bag and wrapped them in tissue papers, according to Delhi Customs officials.
"A lady passenger travelling from Hongkong to Delhi carrying 26 iPhone 16 Pro Max concealed inside her vanity bag (wrapped in tissue paper) was intercepted at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport, the officials said, adding that further investigation was underway," the Delhi customs officials said.

The incident occurred just a day after a man in Lucknow allegedly killed a delivery agent who had come to deliver an iPhone worth Rs 1.5 lakh, which he had ordered online. The accused, along with an accomplice, disposed of the 30-year-old victim's body by dumping it into the Indira Canal, according to police. A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has been deployed to search for the body.
According to a report of PTI, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh stated that one of the suspects, Gajanan, had placed an order for the iPhone through Flipkart, opting for Cash on Delivery (COD). The SDRF team is actively working to recover the victim's body from the canal.
