The plane carrying Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday returned back to the Agra airport shortly after take-off after the plane suffered technical issue.
The aircraft had taken off from Agra at around 3:40 pm, but returned shortly after due to a technical snag. The development led to a stir among UP officials, who rushed back to the airport.
CM Yogi is currently at Kheria Airport while engineers are inspecting the aircraft. Senior officials, including the Commissioner of Police (CP) and District Magistrate (DM), are also present at the site.
Meanwhile, a scheduled event at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, marking eight years of governance, has been cancelled. CM Yogi was supposed to travel from Agra to Lucknow to attend the programme.
A replacement chartered plane was later from Delhi arrived at 5:42 pm, after which CM Yogi resumed his journey to Lucknow. The UP CM had to wait for around two hour at the Agra airport lounge before his departure.
The chief minister attended two major events in Agra earlier in the day. His visit began with a prayer at the Dariyanath Temple in Rajamandi, where he also addressed a religious gathering of saints. He later reached the GIC Ground, where he highlighted the achievements of his eight-year tenure.
