A 55-year-old man, his wife and their 19-year-old son were allegedly killed with a screwdriver in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor, police said. The incident came to light on Sunday after the man's mother came to their house but nobody answered the door. When she peeked inside, she saw the blood-soaked bodies lying in the courtyard. The victims have been identified as Mansoor alias Bhura, a scrap dealer, his wife Ubaida (50) and their son Yaquoob, police said.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jha said Bhura's mother lived near his Khalifa colony residence. Jha said a screwdriver was found near the bodies and that it prima facie appears to be the murder weapon.
The couple had five children and one of their sons, Zahur, is a history-sheeter, the police officer told reporters, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and separate teams formed to work the case.
The accused escaped by jumping over the wall of the house.
Police Investigating The Triple Murder
The Superintendent of Police said Mansoor used to work as a scrap dealer and was living in a dilapidated house to feed himself and his children. The police have not yet reached a conclusion as to why the murder was committed. But some people have been taken into custody at the request of the family members of the victims.
