Bihar remains under severe heatwave conditions for the past 10 days, with both North and South Bihar witnessing severe humidity and high temperatures. Several districts in the western parts have recorded heatwave conditions. Even on Saturday, no relief is expected from the scorching heat in South Bihar, though weather changes are likely in North Bihar.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of relief from the heat in South Bihar districts until April 27. From April 28 onwards, temperatures are expected to drop across districts, including Patna, with chances of rainfall in several areas.

Rain, Thunderstorm And Lightning Alert

The Meteorological Centre in Patna has issued a warning for light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds (40–50 km/h) in seven districts of North Bihar: East Champaran, Madhubani, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Araria, Kishanganj, and Supaul.

Temperature Likely To Drop In North Bihar

Cloud cover is expected in other parts of North Bihar, which may lead to a dip in temperatures. However, South Bihar, including the capital Patna and 19 districts, is unlikely to see any relief from the intense heat for now. Relief across the state is expected around April 28–29. For the next three days, people in South Bihar will continue to face humid conditions and heatwave.

The weather department has also issued a heatwave warning for Aurangabad, Bhabua, Gaya, Nawada, and Rohtas. Meanwhile, temperatures in Patna, Buxar, Bhojpur, Nawada, Jehanabad, Arwal, and Nalanda are expected to touch or exceed 40°C, with strong sunlight and extreme heat conditions prevailing.

Patna To Remain Above 40°C

Patna is likely to record temperatures above 40°C on Saturday, with a further rise expected on Sunday. Night and early morning temperatures are also expected to remain high, above 28°C. From April 28, however, temperatures in Patna may drop below 36°C.
