In Bihar's Patna, local people attacked the police who went to arrest a man, accused of electricity theft. As per the details, two person have been held.
The incident happended in Patliputra police station area when the police went to arrest Rakesh Yadav. The police has registered a case in this matter accusing them of obstructing government work. They have also arrested Yadav's neighbor Suraj Kumar.
After the incident, a large number of police force was deployed there and somehow the situation was brought under control.
As per the details, after receiving information that Yadav, accused of electricity theft, is present at his house in Mainpura area, the police went to arrest him. They raided the place in civil dress at around 10 pm on Sunday night and caught Rakesh Yadav. However, while the police was taking him, people stopped the officials.
Police showed their ID card and told people that a warrant has been issued against Yadav in the case of electricity theft. They also showed a copy of it to the people. But people did not listen and attacked the police.
Mob Attack On Policemen In Bhagalpur
Five policemen were injured in an attack by a mob in Bihar's Bhagalpur district on March 15.
The incident happened in Antichak in Kahalgaon sub-division when a police team went there after receiving information about a fight between two groups.
Among those injured were a sub-inspector, three constables and a chowkidar.
"The incident took place when a police team went to investigate a brawl between two boys, which had escalated. One of the boys hurled stones at the team. Following that, locals also started hurling stones," Station House Officer of Antichak Ashutosh Kumar said. The injured policemen were taken to the nearest government hospital for treatment, he added.
