Banka News: In a shocking incident in Pawai village of Banka district, a young man reportedly consumed pesticide after his fiancée blocked his number. The man, identified as Mithun Kumar Das, had his marriage arranged with a young woman from Bhaluar village. Despite attempts to communicate with his future wife, Mithun’s calls went unanswered, and eventually, he discovered his number had been blocked. This revelation allegedly drove him to a drastic decision.

The incident occurred on Monday, October 7. According to local sources, Mithun, distraught over the blocked calls, consumed pesticide and retreated to the nearby Papaharani hill. Villagers noticed him lying on the hill for an unusually long time and decided to find out why. Upon discovering his condition, they alerted his family, who rushed him to the referral hospital in Amarpur. After initial treatment, he was referred to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital in Bhagalpur, where he received further care before being discharged and allowed to return home.

Girl Wanted To Focus On Preparing For Her Class X Exams

Mithun’s mother, Inwa Devi, shared why her son was distressed. According to her, Mithun's engagement had been finalised, but the girl’s focus on preparing for her matriculation exams led her to avoid conversations with him.

Tensions reportedly escalated over the phone on Monday evening when Mithun tried to reach out to the girl’s mother to understand the situation. The girl’s mother reaffirmed her daughter's academic commitments, indicating that the marriage was planned for the following year.

After the conversation, the girl reportedly blocked Mithun’s number, which seemingly upset him and pushed him to take the extreme step.

The young man’s friends, who were with him at the time he made the call to the girl’s mother, mentioned that Mithun had kept his distress private. Upon returning home, he discreetly consumed pesticide and went to the hill.

As of now, neither family has reported the incident to the police, and no official statement has been received from the girl's side. The lack of police involvement suggests that both families are handling the matter privately.
