RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday said that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's party JD(U) can be saved if the CM's son Nishant enters politics. However, he claimed that the BJP do not want Nishant to enter politics.
After Tejashwi's claim, politics has heated up in Bihar. Speaking on this, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that everyone has the right to enter politics and the Constitution does not stop anyone from doing so.
Singh said, "Everyone has the right to enter politics; the Constitution doesn’t prohibit anyone from doing so. When Tejashwi Yadav created a family-oriented party, Lalu Yadav never allowed anyone from outside the family to join, and Nitish Kumar, despite being in power for over 20 years, never allowed his son to enter politics while he was chief minister..."
On CM Nitish's son joining politics, Tejashwi said, "...He is our brother. I want him to join politics as soon as possible; otherwise, the BJP will finish the JD(U)—the party formed by Sharad Yadav... We joined politics not because our parents asked us to do it but because the people of Bihar and our party workers needed that."
JD(U) MLA Gopal Mandal on CM Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar joining politics said, "If Nitish Kumar, for some reason, is not in a position to continue... then who will handle such a big party? Therefore, we are trying that Nishant ji should come... he will come. There will be commotion in the party if he doesn't."
On 'Make Nitish Kumar NDA’s CM face' reported statement of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar, BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said, "Whatever has been said is something that we have been saying for a long time now - that we will contest the election and form government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar...Our senior leaders, state leadership and central leadership have said the same. In Bihar, we will contest under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, cross 200 and form the government once again...There is no dispute over this. Opposition tries to stoke controversy where there is none...Nitish Kumar is the most experienced and under his leadership, Bihar has made progress. PM too calls him "laadla mukhyamantri" and has a lot of affection for him. So, there is no doubt that we will contest under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and form government."
