Bhopal News: Residents of Kaliyasot, a prominent area in Bhopal, are living in fear due to the movement of tigers. Sightings of five tigers, including cubs, have been reported in the region, with the predators even appearing on roads during the daytime. The forest department has launched a search operation to monitor and address the situation, but the presence of tigers has caused widespread panic.

According to officials, Kaliyasot’s proximity to a dam makes it a natural hotspot for tiger activity. Paw prints found by forest teams suggest that tigers frequently use specific trails in the area. Ranger Shivpal confirmed that tigers, along with their cubs, have been seen near water sources, where most sightings and photographs have been captured. These occurrences have sparked a wave of concern among local residents.

Fear Grips Residents Of Bhopal Locality

The movement of tigers has surged in the last three days, leaving the local community anxious and fearful. Many residents expressed their distress, stating that they are living under constant fear of potential attacks. Requests have been made to the forest department to capture the tigers and ensure public safety. People are taking extra precautions while stepping out, especially during early mornings and late evenings.

They said they are scared to go outside, even during the day, urging the authorities to act swiftly before something tragic happens.

Experts attribute the increasing presence of tigers in residential areas to habitat loss caused by rampant deforestation. Kaliyasot has long been a habitat for tigers, but the depletion of forest cover has forced these animals to venture closer to human settlements in search of food and water.

The forest department is working to address the issue by creating awareness among locals about safety precautions. Efforts are also underway to track and safely relocate the tigers to suitable forested areas.

Tiger spotting is common in and around Bhopal. Last month, an injured tiger 'Chhota Bheem', known to be the biggest tiger of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, was rescued at Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal. It was reported that the tiger was injured by poachers active inside the reserve.
