Bengaluru: 10 More Pakistani Nationals Held Over Illegal Stay, Total Arrests At 17

The latest arrests follow the capture of Parvez, a Uttar Pradesh man, accused of aiding 22 Pakistani citizens in settling in Karnataka, primarily Bengaluru, using fake Hindu identities.

Around ten more Pakistani nationals were arrested on charges of illegally staying in India with fake documents, Bengaluru police said on Wednesday. This brings the total number of Pakistani citizens arrested for illegal stay in the Jigani area on Bengaluru’s outskirts to 17.

The latest arrests follow the capture of Parvez, a man accused of aiding 22 Pakistani citizens in settling in Karnataka, primarily Bengaluru, using fake Hindu identities. Police sources revealed that of the 10 newly arrested individuals, six were women.

"In a fresh case registered in this regard, 10 Pakistani nationals, including six women were arrested on Tuesday from Jigani jurisdiction (near Bengaluru). They have been arrested on charges of illegally staying in India on fake and forged documents. Some of them were also found to be overtsaying illegally," a senior police officer told PTI.

While some of the arrested individuals were using Hindu names, others had retained their original identities.

Earlier, police had arrested four members of a Pakistani family in Jigani. Subsequent interrogations led to the capture of three more Pakistani citizens in Peenya, according to a report on India Today. Parvez, a native of Uttar Pradesh, has now been arrested for the third time in this case. He has been accused of facilitating fake documentation for Pakistani nationals. His second wife, who resides in Pakistan, is also under investigation.

After Parvez’s arrest, he reportedly instructed his associates to surrender to the police, which resulted in the ten Pakistani nationals presenting themselves at the Jigani police station.
