Atul Subhash Suicide: The Allahabad High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Nikita Singhania's uncle Sushil Singhania in the abetment to suicide case days after techie Atul Subhash hanged himself at his residence in Bengaluru.


Nikita, along with her mother Nisha Singhania and brother Anurag Singhania, were arrested on Saturday and sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Nikita was arrested from Gurugram, while her family members were picked up from Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj for abetting Subhash's suicide, a Bengaluru Police official said.


The Bengaluru Police had named Nikita, her mother, her brother, and her uncle Sushil Singhania as accused in the case. All the four accused filed the anticipatory bail pleas on Friday, December 13.


Atul Subhash, before killing himself by suicide on December 9 had accused the Singhania family and a sessions court judge of harassing him for money. The Singhanias had allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 per month for maintenance but later increased the claim to Rs 1 lakh. In his 24-page suicide note, he also accused the judge of demanding a bribe to settle the case. He also accused the Singhanias of demanding Rs 3 crore to settle the case.


Atul Subhash's Father Says They Won't Immerse His Ashes


Pawan Kumar Modi, the father of engineer Atul Subhash who died by suicide on December 9, said the family will not immerse his ashes till justice is served and strict punishment is given to those who "harassed" his son. He thanked the Bengaluru Police for arresting Nikita and her family members.


"All those who harassed my son should be punished so that he gets justice, and his soul rests in peace. I will not immerse the ashes of my son till we get justice,” Pawan Kumar said. He added, "My son was being harassed and tortured for money, and humiliated by his wife... I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all concerned… please give us justice."
