An Army jawan, posted in Assam, came to Indore on leave and allegedly raped his 35-year-old friend there. The man, serving as a Naik in the Army, was staying in a hotel where the married woman came to meet him on Friday. The man allegedly inserted a glass in the private parts of the woman, who was reportedly five-month pregnant.
The woman was found in a "bloodied" state and was sent for medical examination, Women's police station in-charge Kaushalya Chauhan said. "She was crying in pain when she came to the police station. She is stable now. The accused was held under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The two knew each other for the past one-and-half years," the officer said.
The jawan was posted in Mhow cantonment in the Indore district last year where he met the woman and they became friends after he allegedly gave her an army grocery card. The woman alleged that the man had her objectionable video and he was using it to force her into a physical relationship. The woman said he asked her to come to the hotel on Friday night where he sexually assaulted her.
The Armyman has denied the allegations and said that they were in a consensual relationship. He told mediapersons that the woman began bleeding because they had physical realtions when she was pregnant. "A case has been registered against the accused under various sections, including rape and he has been arrested. Authorities are continuing their investigation," the police officer said.
