Kadapa news: A massive explosion occurred early Wednesday morning at the Anna Canteen food factory near the Kadapa market yard, causing significant damage but fortunately resulting in no casualties. The incident, which took place around 3 am, was attributed to a gas leak in the kitchen.
According to reports in Telugu media, the explosion was so powerful that it completely destroyed the kitchen shed.
A video of the remains after the explosion was shared on PTI. The video showed items stewn on the ground and smoke billowing in the room as the result of gas explosion in Anna Canteen Kitchen in Kadapa.

The reports indicate that the blast's impact was so severe that the boiler in the kitchen was flung nearly 200 feet into the air. Additionally, items and debris were scattered around the premises due to the force of the explosion.
As the incident took place at night, the kitchen was unoccupied, and no staff or workers were present near the boiler at the time. This absence likely prevented any loss of life or injuries. However, locals and staff members were left in shock by the magnitude of the explosion when they arrived at the scene.
An investigation into the incident is expected to be initiated to identify the exact cause of the gas leak and evaluate safety measures. Officials and local authorities are yet to issue a formal statement on the incident.
The Anna Canteen was inaugurated once again by CM Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada on July 11, this year. Though the canteen was first opened in March 2016 on a pilot basis, it was later closed by the then YSRCP government. Once TDP alliance came in power, CM Naidu reinaugrated it a few months back.
