Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to make a one-day visit to Prayagraj on Monday to take part in the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, according to a release from the Mahakumbh Media Centre.


As per the release, Shah will arrive at 11:25 AM on Monday in Prayagraj and will begin with a holy bath at the Triveni Sangam. Later, he will also visit the Bade Hanuman Ji Temple and Abhayvat.


The Home Minister will then head to Juna Akhara, where he will meet the Maharaj and other saints of the Akhara and join them for lunch.


His itinerary further includes a visit to Guru Sharananand Ji’s Ashram to meet Guru Sharananand Ji and Govind Giri Ji Maharaj. Shah will conclude his visit by meeting the Shankaracharyas of Sringeri, Puri, and Dwaraka.

No Vehicle Passes Allowed In Mahakumbh Area


The minister is expected to return to Delhi later in the evening. The Mahakumbh Media Centre also announced that vehicle passes would not be allowed in the Mahakumbh area from January 25 to February 3. The zone has been designated as a "No Vehicle Zone" to ensure public safety and effective crowd management during the peak mela days.


The release further added that vehicle owners are encouraged to park in designated parking lots nearby and use GPS guidance to reach the Media Centre.


As per earlier reports, the Mahakumbh-2025 in Prayagraj has witnessed a record-breaking turnout, with over 10.80 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers as of Friday.


Rooted in ancient traditions, the Mahakumbh serves as a spiritual gathering for people from all castes, sects, and beliefs within Sanatan Dharma. The grand event, which began on January 13, will continue until February 26.






Key upcoming bathing dates include January 29 (Mauni Amavasya - Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami - Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri). Held every 12 years, the Mahakumbh draws millions of devotees, with a massive influx expected in Prayagraj during this period.
