Ahead of the Delhi Assembly Election 2025, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the residents of the national capital will soon be getting round-the-clock water supply.


Taking to X (formerly Twitter), ex-CM Kejriwal said, "We had promised to provide clean water 24 hours a day to every household in Delhi. I am happy to inform you that this has already started. I went to Rajendra Nagar Assembly and drank water from the tap myself, the water is absolutely clean. Now the whole of Delhi will get clean water from the tap 24 hours a day."






 


The former CM of Delhi said that when he came to power a decade back, 50 per cent to 60 per cent of water was supplied by tankers, however, now, more than 95 per cent of Delhi receives water through pipeline.


Earlier also, in order to woo Delhi voters, the AAP announced Delhi Sanjeevani Yojana and Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojna. While Delhi Sanjeevani Yojana aims to provide health cover to the residents of Delhi aged 60 and above, Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana will provide financial support to the vulnerable groups in the city.


Under the Mahila Samman Yojana, eligible women above the age of 18 will be provided financial assistance of Rs 1,000, which would later increase to Rs 2,100. The registration of the two initiatives has begun from Tuesday, December 24.


A few days back, the AAP also announced Dr Ambedkar Scholarship, aiming to support higher education of Dalit students.


In Delhi Assembly Elections 2020, the AAP won a lion's share of seats in Delhi, clinching 62 out of 70 seats. BJP got eight seats, while Congress was unable to open its account.
