The Nobel Prize YouTube channel will live-stream the announcement of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for 2024. You can track its official website also, besides Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn handles.

Established by Alfred Nobel’s last will, the Nobel Prize has been awarded annually since 1901, recognising excellence in various disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature, Peace, and more recently Economic Sciences.

The Nobel prizes for 2024 have already been announced for physiology or medicine, physics, chemistry, literature, and peace.

The 2024 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is being awarded jointly to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun for their work on microRNA, while John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton are getting the Nobel Prize in Physics for 2024 for their "discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks".

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2024 has been awarded to David Baker, Demis Hassabis, and John M. Jumper for their work on proteins, the "ingenious chemical tools" of life.

The Nobel Foundation, which manages the fund Alfred Nobel bequeathed his fortune to in his 1895 will, collaborates with different organisations to select and reward the laureates — the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for Physics and Chemistry, Karolinska Institute for Medicine, Swedish Academy for Literature, and the Norwegian Nobel Committee for Peace.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, which awards the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Memory of Alfred Nobel, was founded in 1739. It has nearly 470 Swedish and 175 foreign members, and it appoints members of the prize committee for a three-year term.

The Nobel Prize website specifies that the economic sciences prize instituted by the Sveriges Riksbank (Sweden’s central bank) is not a Nobel Prize, though it has been awarded since 1969 according to the same principles followed for the Nobel Prizes awarded since 1901. Ragnar Frisch and Jan Tinbergen were the first recipients of the economic sciences prize, awarded to them in 1969.
