Reliance Industries chairman, Mukesh Ambani, announced on Wednesday that his company will build India’s maiden carbon fibre facility at Hazira, Gujarat. The billionaire pledged that his firm would build a world-class facility in the state.
Addressing the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, being held in Gandhinagar, the Reliance conglomerate head said, “Reliance was, is, and will always remain a Gujarati company. Reliance has invested more than $150 billion (12 lakh crore) in creating world-class assets and capacities across India in last just 10 years. Of this, more than one third has been invested in Gujarat alone,” reported PTI.
Ambani stated that his company would continue to work for the development of the state and aims to make Gujarat a global leader in ‘green growth’. “We will help Gujarat's target to meet half of its energy needs through renewables by 2030,” he said while adding that Reliance has begun construction of the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex over 5,000 acres in Jamnagar. This project, the chairman noted, would help generate a large number of green jobs and facilitate the production of green products and materials, ‘that will make Gujarat the leading exporter of such goods and the company is ready to roll this out in the second half of 2024 itself’.
“No power on earth can stop India from becoming a 35 trillion-dollar economy by 2047. And I see Gujarat alone will become a 3-trillion dollar economy by then,” Ambani stated.
Ambani also lauded the Prime Minister for his vision and credited the success of the summit to his ambition. “No other summit of this kind has continued for 20 long years and going from strength to strength. This is a tribute to PM Modi's vision and consistency,” he said.
The Prime Minister kicked off the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The summit saw global leaders like the UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan along with business icons like Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, and Lakshmi Mittal in attendance.
