Gopichand Hinduja emerged as the richest individual in the United Kingdom, the UK Sunday Times Rich List revealed over the weekend. This marks the sixth time the Hinduja Family has come to the top of the list. The list showed that Hinduja’s net worth stands at £37.196 billion.
Following Hinduja, British businessman Sir Leonard Blavatnik secured the second spot in the list with a net worth of £29.246 billion.
Another Indian who found a place on the list was Lakshmi Mittal, who stood at eighth position with a net worth stood at £14.92 billion.
The third spot in the list was occupied by David and Simon Reuben and family with a net worth of £24.97 billion. Sir Jim Ratcliffe followed in fourth position with a net worth of £23.51 billion, while Sir James Dyson and family stood in fifth place with a net worth of £20.8 billion.
Barnaby and Merlin Swire and family secured the sixth position with a net worth of £17.2 billion, followed by Idan Ofer with a valuation of £14.96 billion.
The ninth spot on the list was occupied by Guy, George, Alannah and Galen Weston Jr and family with a net worth of £14.49 billion, while John Fredriksen and family came in tenth with a net worth of £12.86 billion.
Hinduja, also known as GP, leads Hinduja Automotive Ltd. He became the chairman of the firm last year after his brother Srichand Hinduja passed away of dementia.
Gopichand, born in India in 1940, graduated from the Jain Hind College in Mumbai in 1959.
Founded by Parmanand Deepchang Hinduja, the Hinduja Group currently operates in 48 nations and covers several sectors such as IT, cyber security, healthcare, trading, automotive, oil and specialty chemicals, banking and finance, media and entertainment, power, real estate, and infrastructure project development.
