New Delhi: Twitter is buzzing with memes and reactions after Tesla chief Elon Musk announced $44 billion deal on Monday which will end the social media giant's run as a public company since 2013.
Soon after the deal was announced, Musk said free speech is the "bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square".
Some of the users didn't approve Trump's come back on the social media platform.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump on Monday clarified that he has no intention of rejoining Twitter even after his account gets reinstated following Elon Musk’s deal.
“I am not going on Twitter. I am going to stay on Truth . “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on Truth,” said Trump to Fox News.
Apart from Trump, users also pointed out at restoring The Babylon Bee, the satire website that Musk has retweeted on many occasions. It is when the website was banned that Musk pondered over the need to buy Twitter, said a Bloomberg report.
Others listed the controversial names who were moved out of the platform, such as Milo Yiannopoulos and Laura Loomer.
Meanwhile, some users like Emily Freeman, head of community engagement at Amazon Web Services also anticipated a Twitter staff exodus.
While some also feared thinking if their jobs will be safe.
According to a New York Times reporter, things are a little chaotic inside Twitter right now.
Marc Andreessen, the venture capitalist and co-author of the first widely used web browser, has been having fun with the memes from the moment the offer was made.
