As the year comes to a close, the investors are finishing up their last-minute trades before getting into the festivities. However, the traders will not be able to place any trades on Wednesday.
The stock market will remain closed on December 25, 2024, to mark the festival of Christmas. Both the stock exchanges, BSE and NSE, will be shut down for the public on the day, as such, no trading will take place in the equity segment, equity derivative segment, and SLB segment.
Further, investors will be unable to place any trades in the commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segments as well today. This will also mean no action for the traders on the MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) and the NCDEX (National Commodity Exchange) during the trading hours on December 25, 2024.
Regular trading will resume on Thursday (December 26, 2024). Apart from this, traders can expect to see four more trading sessions before the New Year rings in. The month of December saw 7 trading holidays so far.
These holidays include general weekend leaves of Saturday and Sunday, which are always non-trading days for the market. Additionally, the list takes into account festivals or national events such as elections. The holiday list is available on the BSE website under the ‘Trading Holidays’ section. Investors should only depend on this list to schedule their trades and bets.
