Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani on Friday said that the rollout of 5G will be completed by the end of 2023 throughout India, reported news agency ANI. Speaking at the Andhra Pradesh Global Investors Summit, Ambani said that this will benefit every sector of the economy and will create employment opportunities in the state. 


Mukesh Ambani said, "The rollout of 5G will be completed by the end of 2023 throughout India. This will benefit every sector of the economy and will create employment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh…We are creating the largest and the best digital network footprint in the state by investing over Rs 40,000 crore. Our 4G network covers 98 per cent of the state."


Reliance’s telecom venture, Jio, has rolled out its 5G network in over 300 cities while Airtel has a network in over 140 cities. Reliance Jio President Mathew Oommen on Thursday told PTI that Jio will be the largest 5G SA (standalone) only network operator in the world in the second half of 2023, ensuring that all advanced services and capabilities are available affordably to the masses. 


At the Global Investors Summit in Visakhapatnam, Ambani also said, “Reliance has created over 20,000 direct jobs and a large number of indirect jobs in Andhra Pradesh. It is also working in the field of education here. We will also invest in the 10 Gigawatts of renewable solar energy in the state.”

The two-day event is being held in the Andhra University campus, where 200 booths have been put up, including more than 30 highlighting the different benefits of investment in Andhra Pradesh in the 13 critical industries designated by the government, reported PTI. The venue has five massive halls; each one will hold different events, such as meetings, seminars, and government-to-business (G2B) gatherings. 


The event is expected to draw over 8,000 dignitaries and investors from India and 40 other nations, including China and the United States.


At the summit, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh has received 348 investment proposals with some of Rs 13 lakh crores creating employment for 6 lakh people. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, "Reliance , Adani, Zindal, NTPC, are expanding their business in AP."
