New Delhi: If you have any pending work in bank, then try to close it on Wednesday as banks in most regions will remain closed from Thursday for next four days due to various festivities, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar.


Such holidays are declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act. These holidays differ from state to state but on certain days banks remain closed across the country.


It is to be noted that branches of all public sector banks, private sector, foreign banks, cooperative banks and regional banks remain closed on notified holidays by the RBI.

Banks closed on April 14


Banks will remain closed on various occasions including Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Baisakhi, Vaisakhi, Tamil New Year's Day, Cheiraoba, Biju Festival and Bohag Bihu.


Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram.


However, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh banks will remain open on this day.


Banks closed on April 15


You will not be able to vist banks on Friday on the occasion of Good Friday/Bengali New Year's Day (Nababarsha)/Himachal Day/Vishu/Bohag Bihu


Banks will be remain closed in all regions except Rajasthan, Jammu and Srinagar


Banks closed on April 16


Banks will remain closed in Guwahati on the occasion of Bohag Bihu. They will also remain closed on April 17, whihc is a weekned.


Moreover, banks will also be shut on April 21 due to Garia Puja, and on April 29 due to Shab-I-Qadr/Jumat-ul-Vida.


It is to be noted that banks will remain shut on the last Saturday, i.e. April 23, and April 24, which is a Sunday. Banks remain open on the first and third Saturday of a month.
