With the prices of petrol and diesel rising continioulsy across the country since more than a week, the popular dairy giant Amul on Friday released a topical on the same.


Taking to the official Twitter handle today, the dairy brand shared a cartoon show the Amul girl filling up fuel tank of the car with an unpleasent mood due to continious hike in the price of petrol and diesel. The doodle read 'Painfuel Increase' at the top of the cartoon with 'Amul Affordable taste' at the bottom.

The cartoon is in reference to the steep rise in the prices of petrol and diesel with fuel being sold in some cities close to Rs 100 per litre. 


As per Indian Oil Corporation, the petrol prices in the national capital has been raised by 34 paise while diesel witnessed 32 paise increase.

The price of petrol has gone up from Rs 89.54 per litre to Rs 89.88 per litre while diesel price has witnessed a hike from Rs 79.95 per litre to Rs 80.27 per litre. In Mumbai, the current petrol and diesel rates are at Rs 96.32 per litre and Rs 87.32 per litre respectively.  


While branded or premium petrol had crossed the Rs 100-mark in states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, this is the first time that regular petrol crossed the Rs 100-mark.
