Aadhar-PAN Link: Have you linked your Aadhaar card with the PAN card so far or not? If you haven't, then do it immediately as you may end up paying a hefty fine. It has been made mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN from April 1, 2022.
CBDT issued a notification informing that from April 1, 2022, a penalty will have to be paid if PAN is to be linked with Aadhaar. A penalty of Rs 500 will have to be paid for not linking PAN with Aadhaar within the first three months from April 1 onwards. A penalty of Rs 1000 will have to be paid for linking after this period.
After this order of the CBDT, it is clear that the government is not going to extend the dates of linking the Aadhaar card with the PAN card now.
Earlier, the government had extended this deadline several times and the last date was decided as March 31, 2022. But according to the CBDT's notification, a penalty will have to be paid for linking Aadhaar with PAN from April 1, 2022.
If you do not have a PAN card linked with Aadhaar, you will not be able to open, a Demat account, bank account or mutual funds because a PAN card is necessary for all this. If the PAN card is locked in the situation of the Aadhaar card not linked with the PAN card, then you will not be able to avail of any such facility where the PAN card is mandatory. So if you have not yet linked PAN and Aadhaar card, then complete this work soon.

Open the Income Tax e-filing portal https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/.
Register on it (if not already done).
Your PAN (Permanent Account Number) will be your user ID.
Log in by entering your user ID, password and date of birth.
A pop-up window will open which will be for linking your PAN to Aadhaar.
If the pop-up window does not open, go to Profile Settings in the Menu bar and click on 'Link Aadhar'.
According to PAN, details such as name, date of birth and gender will already be mentioned there.
Verify your Aadhaar and PAN card information.
If the details match and are correct, enter your Aadhaar number and click on the "Link Now" button.
A pop-up message will notify you that your Aadhaar has been successfully linked to your PAN.
