Industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata was on Saturday conferred with the 'Udyog Ratna' award at his residence by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis. The award was given to him at his home as he couldn't have come on Sunday (August 20) for the award ceremony due to his ill health. Speaking on the occasion, CM Eknath Shinde lauded the contribution made toward the country's development by Ratan Tata and the Tata group.

"Ratan Tata's and Tata Group's contribution to the country is immense. I thank him for accepting this award given by the Maharashtra government," the Chief Minister added.
