A customer in Pune recently expressed his frustration about repeated spam calls from companies. The user, Arnav Ghatage, shared his experience via a post on social media platform X and said that he received repeated spam calls from RBL Bank, Paisabazaar, and Bajaj Finance even though he was registered for Do Not Disturb (DND).

Ghatage, an analyst, in his post said, “Received 9 calls today from Paisabazaar, RBL Bank, and Bajaj Finance. I block the number each time, but they always call from a new one. I've set DND everywhere and repeatedly asked them not to call, but it doesn't seem to work.”

Ghatage further noted that a solution needs to be found for the issue. Responding to his complaint, RBL Bank shared an automated response which read, “Hello, we sincerely regret the inconvenience. We request you to register on http://rblbank.com/DoNotCall.aspx . Post registration, you will not receive any calls or emails from the bank. For any further assistance, reach out to us on @rblbankcares.”

In a response, Ghatage questioned why the bank needed his consent to remove him from the calling list as they didn’t require his permission before calling him in the first place. “Did take my consent before calling? Why do you need it now to remove my name?,” he wrote.

The post quickly went viral and Netizens shared their own experience and irritation at the situation. “There is no solution. Government has given free hand to advertisers and Trai has become blind,” one of the users commented.
