Indians are leaving no stone unturned to celebrate Mother’s Day. Showering their mothers with gifts, chocolates, and greetings, the country is completely soaking in the festive fever. Sharing the details of these celebrations, Swiggy Instamart CEO, Phani Kishan, took to social media platform, X, and broke down the merriment in data and trends.


Kishan noted that the app’s Mother’s Day section got a huge response from the customers as an increasing number of users ordered gifts for their mothers. The top orders for the day so far were received for roses from Bengaluru and Mumbai, while users in Delhi preferred chocolates, the executive shared. “Hyderabad gifted mom plants, Chennai got cakes, and Kolkata gifted perfumes. Each city expressing its affection for moms its own sweet way,” Kishan shared in a tweet.

The deliver app head said single-day orders hit a fresh record and orders for handbags, perfumes, and watches climbed 141 per cent. He noted that orders for chocolates were being placed from midnight and touched 143 chocolates per minute by early afternoon on Sunday. “Orders for chocolate started as early as midnight and continue to be ordered. We’re currently running at 143 chocolates per minute. Love for our mothers is sweeter than everything else,” he shared via a post.






Kishan also shared how Swiggy Instamart employees received a surprise visit from ther mothers as part of the firm’s gesture to celebrate the day.






Sharing the story of one particular user, the executive said, "Big shoutout to a user from Mumbai for showering their mom with love and gifts! The order totalling 11 items includes cards, chocolates, flowers, a handbag and perfume. Talk about spoiling your mom in style!"
