Former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki passed away after battling cancer for two years. The news of Wojcicki’s death was shared by her husband Dennis Troper via a post on social media platform Facebook.

In the post on August 10, 2024, Troper shared that Wojcicki has passed away from cancer. "It is with profound sadness that I share the news of Susan Wojcicki passing," he said.

Aged 56, Wojcicki was married to Troper for 26 years and the couple had five children together. She passed away after a 2 year-long battle with non-small cell lung cancer, her husband said.

"Susan was not just my best friend and partner in life, but a brilliant mind, a loving mother, and a dear friend to many. Her impact on our family and the world was immeasurable. We are heartbroken, but grateful for the time we had with her. Please keep our family in your thoughts as we navigate this difficult time," he added.

Sundar Pichai, Alphabet’s CEO, expressed his condolences to her family. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the executive shared a tribute to Wojcicki.

Notably, Wojcicki took an exit from YouTube earlier last year in February after heading the entity for nine years. She also played an integral part in building Google and joined the company as its 16th employee in 1999.

Earlier this year, Wojcicki’s oldest son Marco Troper suddenly passed away from a reported drug overdose at the age of 19 years.
