Forbes India Rich List 2018: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesha Ambani is once again the richest Indian with a net worth of $47.3 billion, as per Forbes Magazine. The billionaire business tycoon has top the Forbes India’s 100 richest people list for consecutive 11th time. Ambani is also country’s biggest gainer as he added a whopping $9.3 billion to his total wealth riding on the phenomenal success of his Reliance Jio telecom services. According to ‘Forbes India Rich List 2018’, second in the list is none other than Wipro chairman Azim Premji with an overall wealth of $21 billion. Premji successfully added $2 billion to his total wealth this year. Premji is a Standford University dropout who took care of family's oil business in 1996 after the demise of his father and later expanded into software vertical.


Moving a step ahead, ArcelorMittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal came in at the third spot with a net worth of $18.3 billion. Mittal added $1.8 billion to his overal wealth this year. Last year, he bagged fourth position in the Forbes India Rich List. The Hinduja Brothers came in at the 4th spot with a net worth of $18 billion. Four close-knit siblings, Srichand, Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok, own the multinational conglomerate, Hinduja Group has great grip in segments such as trucks, cable television, lubricants and even banking.

Fifth in the list is Pallonji Mistry with an overall wealth of Rs 15.7 billion. Mistry is the owner of Shapoorji Pallonji Group which is country's 153-year-old engineering and construction company. Mistry is followed by business magnet Shiv Nadar at sixth spot with a net worth of $14.6 billion. Nadar is one of the co-founders of HCL Technologies which is India’s fourth largest software service provider.

With a net worth of $14 billion, the Godrej family bags the seventh spot in the list. Godrej Group is a 121-year old consumer-goods giant of India. Owner of Sun Pharmaceuticals, Dilip Shanghvi bagged eighth spot in the list with a net worth of $12.6 billion. Founded in 1983, Sun Pharma is world’s fourth largest speciality generics maker.

Ninth in the list is Kumar Birla with a net worth of $12.5 billion. He is the fourth generation head of the Aditya Birla Group. The group is well rooted in segments such as telecom, financial services and even retail. Last but not the least is Gautam Adani who bagged the tenth spot in the Forbes India Rich List 2018. Adani has a net worth of $11.9 billion. His company Adani Group spans in segments such as power generation and transmission, real estate and commodities etc.
