New Delhi: Elon Musk’s fight with Twitter in a hostile takeover sure keeps Twitteratti engaged as he keeps giving them food for thoughts every now and then. On Wednesday morning, Musk Tweeted from his official account a series of dashes making a blank with “is the night” for users to guess. “_______ is the Night,” the Tesla CEO and the second-highest stakeholder of Twitter wrote.

His small tweet garnered thousands of responses as Twitter users related it to his bid to buy the microblogging site.

Here are some responses to Musk’s tweet.

Earlier this month, Elon Musk bought 9.1 percent of the shares of Twitter and then offered to buy the microblogging company for $54.2 a share. The offer by him seems to be turning into a hostile bid as it forced the Twitter board to adopt the “poison pill” to save the company.

Meanwhile, a New York Post report on Tuesday stated that Musk was willing to invest between $10 billion to $15 billion of his own money to make Twitter private.

The billionaire, who is Twitter's second-biggest shareholder, is planning to launch a tender offer in about 10 days and has tapped Morgan Stanley to raise another $10 billion in debt, the report stated.

On Monday, Musk posted on Twitter that if he takes over Twitter, then the salary of the board members will be $0. "Board salary will be $0 if my bid succeeds, so that's ~$3M/year saved right there," Musk tweeted in response to a user's post criticising the board.
