Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has tied the knot with Mexican entrepreneur Grecia Munoz, according to a person familiar with the matter. The wedding ceremony occurred more than a month ago, with the individual choosing to remain anonymous. Munoz, originally from Mexico, has transitioned from a modeling career to establishing her own start-up specialising in luxury consumer goods.

Following their honeymoon in February, Deepinder Goyal and Grecia Munoz returned. Munoz, who identifies herself as being from Mexico but now residing in India, shared snippets of her exploration of Delhi on Instagram earlier in January.

This marks Goyal's second marriage, having previously been married to Kanchan Joshi, whom he met during his time at IIT-Delhi.

Deepinder Goyal (41) is the founder and CEO of Zomato, a food delivery platform headquartered in Gurugram. He started the company in 2008 under the name Foodiebay, launching it from his apartment. Zomato has since expanded into a major player in the food delivery sector, operating in over 1,000 cities across India.

Recently, Zomato faced criticism for its introduction of a 'pure veg' delivery fleet, distinguished by green uniforms instead of the usual red. This decision was swiftly reversed due to substantial backlash on social media, with Goyal acknowledging the potential risks to the safety of their delivery personnel posed by on-the-ground segregation.

Meanwhile, Zomato has made a shift in its approach as it has decided not to pursue its 'green' initiative further. The aggregator recently unveiled its intention to introduce a 'Pure Veg' mode within its app, aiming to cater specifically to vegetarian clientele.

Zomato also revealed that orders placed through this mode would be fulfilled by delivery personnel sporting green uniforms. However, this announcement triggered a wave of discontent on social media platforms, with many users expressing concerns about potential privacy infringements. They argued that this approach could inadvertently disclose individuals' dietary preferences to others.

In response to the outcry, Goyal took to social media to address the situation. He confirmed that Zomato would proceed with its plans for the 'Pure Veg' mode but would abandon the concept of distinct green uniforms.
