New Delhi [India], August 4 (ANI): Indian smartphone users recently discovered that the contact list on their Android devices had two special numbers added by default, namely the UIDAI helpline number 1-800-300-1947 and the 112 distress number.

This addition was irrespective of the network provider, or related Aadhaar app installed on the phone, The Verge reported.

Now, Google has acknowledged the 'inadvertent coding' into the Setup wizard of the Android release given to OEMs for use in India, and denied it as a case of unauthorized access to devices. (ANI)
