India has made history with the successful touchdown of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the enigmatic South Pole of the moon. This remarkable achievement not only solidifies India's standing as a prominent participant in space technology but also establishes it as the fourth country to accomplish a soft landing on the lunar surface.


The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) took to Twitter to share the news with the world, “Chandrayaan-3 Mission: 'India, I reached my destination and you too!' : Chandrayaan-3. Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon! Congratulations, India!”


A wave of reactions has flooded social media from various segments of society. Notably, the Indian business community also swiftly joined in the celebration, with many expressing their joy and pride on X.


N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, said, "Proud moment for every Indian and a momentous milestone in India’s space & technology journey. Congratulations to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and team ISRO. This will inspire generations."

Following the successful landing, ISRO Chairman S Somanath told Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was observing the landing virtually, said, "Sir we have achieved a soft landing on the moon. India is now on the Moon."

The intricate soft landing process involved precise engine maneuvers and surface scanning to avoid obstacles before touchdown. ISRO launched the Automatic Landing Sequence for Chandrayaan-3's Lander Module, containing the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover. The touchdown occurred after 6 P.m.
