In an out of the box move, the United Kingdom arm of the food chain giant Burger King requested its customers to order from McDonald’s, KFC, Subway, Dominos, Pizza Hut, and other restaurant chains. This comes after the UK fearing the second wave of Coronavirus again imposed lockdown to contain the spread of the disease. Burger King has urged customers to start ordering McDonald's as new restrictions and lockdown measures are introduced.

In a statement online, Burger King confirmed outlets would be shut - with McDonald's still opening for McDelivery and Just Eat.

Online, Burger King appealed to its customers to switch allegiances.

“Order from McDonald’s,” read the headline.

We never thought we would ask you to do this, just as we never imagined we would ask you to order from KFC, Domino’s Pizza, Subway, Five Guys, Greggs, Papa John's, Taco Bell, and other independent food outlets, too numerous to mention here.

"In short: from any of our sister food chains (fast or not fast)."

"We never thought we'd be asking you to do this, but restaurants employing thousands of staff really need your support at the moment," Burger King added in a statement on social media on Monday, just three days before new restrictions come into place.
