Bengaluru’s rental costs became the topic of conversation again on Thursday after a woman sought tenants for her place in Koramangala. The user, named Leesha Agarwal, in a post on social media platform, X, shared pictures of her flat and sought tenants to replace her for the place.
Along with the pictures, Agarwal said, “We are moving out of our current 2BHK in Koramangala and looking for someone who’d be interested in taking it up! Want someone who will be willing to take it as it is (with all the furnishings).”
However, what shocked Netizens was the rent and deposit ask for the place. Agarwal informed that the flat requires a deposit of Rs 2.5 lakh along with the monthly rent of Rs 43,000. This reignited the conversation of finding an affordable housing option in the Indian Silicon valley.
Sharing more details about the flat, Agarwal said, “Yes the balcony in one room is beautiful, location is near wipro signal and the kitchen is a cute lil open situation. 10/10 vibes, great for couples imo. No marriage nonsense, no pet nonsense!”
However, many users called out the steep deposit required for the flat. One user commented, “Good house. But 2.5 lakh deposit for a house in Koramangala ? Might as well start selling organs on the black market to make up for this.”
Meanwhile, Agarwal noted that this is the regular norm for the city. Another user agreed with the sentiment and said that any ‘decent’ society in Bengaluru includes similar deposit amounts.
This again highlighted the steep rental requirements of Bengaluru and how much affordable it remains for the common people to live in.
