New Delhi: After private and public banks remained shut for almost 12 days in May, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar for the June has listed up to nine day closure for banks including the second and fourth Saturdays apart from all Sundays.
As per the calendar, three of the nine holidays are state-specific holidays which will be observed on different occasions. Banks are closed on public holidays but certain holidays are observed based on the regional festivals which vary among states.
Banks across the country are closed on gazetted holidays. Both private, as well as public sector banks, remain closed on Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), Christmas Day (December 25). Besides, these gazetted holidays, banks are also not operational during festivals including Diwali, Christmas, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanthi, Good Friday.

June 30 - Remna Ni (banks will remain closed in Izwal only)
Also, note that banks would be closed in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar on June 15 on account of YMA Day/Raja Sankranti. On June 25, banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar on account of Guru Hargobind Ji’s birthday. On June 30, banks will be closed in Aizawl on account of Remna Ni.
Customers looking to visit their respective banks in June are suggested to visit the branch as per the above holidays. While the bank branches will remain closed on the mentioned days below, mobile and internet banking will be functional as usual. All bank customers should note the list of holidays to avoid any inconvenience.
