Ananya Narang, CEO of Entourage, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her amusement and slight bewilderment over a job application she received. Accompanying a screenshot of the application, Narang remarked, “Just received yet another job application. No wonder we have so much unemployment today.”


The application featured generic placeholder text like "mention your key skills" and "briefly highlight relevant experience," indicating that the applicant likely failed to personalise their submission and may have relied on Artificial Intelligence to complete it.


The application reads, “I hope this message finds you well! I’m excited to reach out regarding the opportunities you’re offering. I believe my skills and experiences align well with your needs. I’m proficient in [mention your key skills, e.g., graphic design, social media strategy, research], and I’m passionate about [explain briefly how you can add value, e.g., creating engaging content, analysing trends, supporting strategic initiatives]. My previous experience includes [briefly highlight relevant experience or projects].”


It further added, “I am eager to contribute to your team and help drive growth and innovation. I’d love to discuss how I can add value to what you’re building! Looking forward to hearing from you!”






In a follow-up tweet, Narang humorously inquired, “What should I even reply to this?” Her post quickly attracted attention and sparked a lively debate on social media. Some users criticised the applicant for not proofreading, while others expressed sympathy for the applicant, highlighting the pressures of the current job market.


One of the X users wrote, "You should also generate a prompt telling him how to properly copy paste the generated reply, and add why he cannot be hired as he doesn’t even know how to copy paste.”


“You may reply pointing out the mistake & suggest to correct the application so that it may be considered else it will be rejected (in a week), if that is the main tie breaker & matters so much for selection. If not, focus on other things available in CV and accordingly respond,” wrote another user.
