New Delhi [India] November 5: In a heartfelt tribute to a cherished companion, Kamal Rampuria announced the launch of the Bira Foundation, dedicated to supporting animal welfare. The foundation’s creation follows the loss of Rampuria’s beloved dog, Bira, whose memory inspired him to transform his grief into a mission to inspire humanity for kindness. A special prayer ceremony was held at the Chinmaya Mission in Lodhi Road, New Delhi, where friends, family, and animal lovers gathered to honor Bira’s legacy and celebrate this new chapter in animal advocacy. The celebration was blessed with the presence of Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, Mr. Suresh Sharma- Former IG, Punjab Police, Mr. V N Dalmia, noted industrialist and a pet enthusiast.
Mrs. Maneka Gandhi, Indian politician, animal rights activist and environmentalist and long-time supporter of humane treatment of animals, praised the foundation’s vision. She expressed her happiness to see a Terhvi ceremony celebration of a pet for the first time. She said “The Bira Foundation represents a beacon of hope for animals everywhere. In a world where so many animals suffer silently, initiatives like these bring necessary awareness and resources to protect and care for them. It’s our duty as humans to stand up for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
Kamal Rampuria, Founder of the Bira Foundation, spoke warmly about his inspiration for the foundation: “Bira was more than a pet; he was family, a source of unconditional love, and joy. Through this foundation, I want to honor his memory by creating a platform that embodies the love and care he brought to my life.
