Surat (Gujarat) [India], January 31: Viral Desai, a well-known environmentalist and industrialist known as the 'Green Man,' was honoured by the Vayask (senior) Anavil Association for his immense contribution and work in the field of environment conversation in the diamond city of Surat.
"It is the first time that I am being honoured by an association of senior citizens of the Anavil Samaj," Viral Desai said as he accepted the honour. That is why this honour means more to me than others. This is not only an honour but also a blessing from my elders.”
At the sideline of the event, there was a discussion on how senior citizens can be involved in the field of environment protection and tree plantation activities.
Upendrabhai T Desai, president of Vayask Anavil Association, Harishbhai Nayak, Nitinbabu Nayak, Bharatbhai Desai, Deepak Vashi and other officials of the association were present at the event.
It must be mentioned that Viral Desai was recently awarded the National Energy Conservation Award by President Draupadi Murmu. Desai was awarded for remaining ahead in terms of energy conservation in the textile sector across the country.
