In conversation with, Chetan Suvarna, Co-Founder, Agribid Private Limited.

1. Kindly tell us about the services you provide?

Agribid Private Limited is an agri-tech startup that provides a digital platform connecting farmers directly with buyers, enabling them to sell their produce at fair prices. Our platform also offers real-time market insights and data analytics to help farmers make informed decisions. Additionally, we provide logistics and financing solutions to our customers to ensure the smooth delivery of their products.

2. What triggered you to come up with Agribid? How did this idea generate?

As someone who comes from an agricultural family background, I witnessed first-hand the challenges faced by farmers in selling their produce at a fair price. Farmers often have to deal with intermediaries who offer them low prices for their crops, which significantly reduces their income. This motivated me to create a platform that connects farmers directly with buyers, eliminating intermediaries and ensuring fair prices for the farmers. Along with my co-founder, we developed the idea for Agribid and decided to create a digital platform that leverages technology to empower farmers and improve their livelihoods.

3. What are the USPs of Agribid? What sets you apart from others?

One of the unique selling points (USPs) of Agribid is our focus on connecting farmers directly with buyers, which eliminates intermediaries and ensures fair prices for farmers. Additionally, we provide real-time market insights and data analytics, which enables farmers to make informed decisions about their crops.

Another USP of Agribid is our commitment to providing logistics and financing solutions to our customers, ensuring a smooth delivery process and payment security.

Finally, our platform is user-friendly and accessible, even for farmers who have limited technology access and literacy. We provide a seamless and hassle-free experience for both farmers and buyers, which sets us apart from others in the industry.

4. How and where do you operate? What’s your business model?

Agribid operates through a digital platform, which is accessible to farmers and buyers across India. Our business model is based on taking a commission from buyers on each transaction conducted through our platform. We do not charge any fee to the farmers and it will be a free for life model for farmers.

We work directly with farmers to onboard them onto our platform and provide them with training and support to help them sell their products effectively. At the same time, we engage with buyers to understand their requirements and connect them with farmers who can meet their needs.

Our operations are currently focused on specific regions within India, but we plan to expand our reach to other parts of the country in the future.
