Its founder, Dr. Kalasha Naidu Medapureddy, was awarded the Asia Icon 2024 award for her exceptional service programs. At just eleven years old, an age typically spent playing and studying, Kalasha Naidu has been honored with an international award for her compassion and generosity toward people. Despite many renowned figures in the subcontinent awaiting this prestigious honor for years, it was Dr. Kalasha Naidu who received it, setting a rare record as the youngest person and the first Indian woman to win the Asia Icon award in the social service category.

The Asia Icon 2024 awards ceremony took place on the 26th and 27th of this month in Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital. The two-day celebration was an extraordinary event, recognizing individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding talent in various categories across the Asian continent. Dr. Kalasha Naidu Medapureddy, the founder of Kalasha Foundation, received the Asia Icon 2024 award in the Global Social Service category.

She received the award from Shri. Maithripala Sirisena, Former President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Colombo Governor Senthil Thandaman, Foreign Minister Taraka Balasurya and Youth Affairs Minister Rohana Dishannayake participated as special guests in this honor program.

Kalasha’s parents, Dr. Nuthana Naidu and Dr. Priya Naidu, were also in attendance and expressed immense pride in their daughter’s achievement. They shared how Kalasha’s passion for social service emerged from a young age, and they recognized and nurtured her interest. Dr. Nuthana Naidu emphasized the importance of parents identifying and encouraging their children’s talents early in life, which can lead to great success. Kalasha’s dedication to social service has also been recognized by the United Nations, which awarded her the title of "Global Youngest Social Worker" along with an honorary doctorate.

Kalasha Naidu’s remarkable achievements serve as an inspiration, showing that age is no barrier to making a significant impact on the world.
