Nirbhaya, Hathras, Unnao, Hyderabad are some of the many instances that left the nation shocked and raged demanding justice for the victim in the rape case. Social media flooded with support, we could witness candle marches all over the country, people gathered in large numbers to seek justice for the victim at the India Gate and her family members but this was just one side of our beloved country India.

The other side will also leave you shocked and raged but the reasons will be opposite, while some of you are busy seeking justice for the rape victims the other side of India is busy sending threats rape threats to a 5-year old because her father is not able to perform on the fields as expected by his 'so-called fans'.

Remember the day when our Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced retirement? Fan or not but you felt it was an end of the era. You felt nostalgic remembering his innings against Pakistan and giving him immense respect after he brought the First World Cup home. Where did that respect vanish? And, even if you don't like his performance now, do you think it is appropriate to blame his daughter?

Whether Ziva was 5 years old or 25 or 50 it will never be justified to send her rape threats, but again, we live in a country where women are the first ones facing the wrath of your mood swings. Bad day at work? You yell at your wife. Got scolded by the school teacher? You scold your mother. Sister wants to leave for a solo trip? You teach her boundaries of being a woman.

We live in a country where a political leader wants to stop rapes by instilling Sanskar in daughters and a lawyer defends rapists on the pretext of becoming famous. Our country hurls violent abuses when a daughter says this is "no country for women" proving she is not safe as she is vocal.

The question is not about how can you send rape threats to Ziva Dhoni, daughter of "The Mahendra Singh Dhoni". The question is How dare you to send rape threats to anyone? Who made this an acceptable common reaction of violently trolling and abusing players (and even their wives and girlfriends) from so-called "fans" every time their favourite team loses a match? The issue has become more disturbing as the hate now seems to be spreading to children and minors.

If you are thinking it is some people who do this, look around yourself, maybe in a mirror as you are also contributing to this abusive reaction by not speaking up. You wait for somebody else to raise their voice as this is not your problem but who knows the same incident might happen in your neighbourhood.

If you have ever thought of standing with the rape victims, better take a stand now before the rape happens. Your one voice will make a huge difference. Speak Up!
