New Delhi: With petrol prices rising as ever, CNG is the way to beat the rising fuel costs as diesel is slowly losing favour with buyers. CNG is no longer limited to small cars or considered unsafe as many cars are now available with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
A factory-fitted kit brings in peace of mind and more safety while addition of new CNG stations also brings in less of a headache and more availability. Plus these new modern CNG cars would be coming with additional features like auto switch from CNG to petrol plus additional safety measures.

We have seen the new Tiago and Tigor CNG while in the future, subcompact SUVs will also be coming with a factory CNG option. That includes the Venue, Sonet and the Brezza. The Sonet was recently seen testing with the CNG version and it might debut with either its 1.2l petrol or the 1.0 l turbo unit. In both cases, the CNG version is less powerful than the petrol. The same can be said with the Venue CNG as it might come with a 1.2l petrol also to save costs with a manual gearbox.
The 1.2l petrol is same as i20 but might come with changes to handle the weight of the CNG tank. The Brezza CNG will most likely come with its 1.5l petrol and that's easier to say because that engine powers many Maruti cars especially with the new Ertiga also getting a CNG option.
