Toyota has launched the Urban Cruiser Taisor in India and as mentioned before also, it is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx while being a badge engineered car. That said, the Urban Cruiser Taisor does have minute differences over the Fronx namely with a tweaked bumper design along with a new grille.

The DRL lighting signature is also different and exclusive to the Toyota.

While the basic shape of the car remains the same, Toyota has made some changes to differentiate it from the Fronx with new alloy wheels plus a new colour.

The rear styling though more or less remains the same which means it gets a coupe style rear with a tapered roofline.

Inside, the Urban Cruiser Taisor does get a new upholstery which makes it different while the basic design stays the same including a 9inch touchscreen.

Other features include a heads up display, a 360 degree view camera, climate control, connected car technology and more.

Inside the space remains the same as the Fronx too which means headroom is slightly compromised with the roofline although legroom is decent.

If talking about powertrains, the Urban Cruiser Taisor shares it's powertrains with the Fronx as well with a 1.2l petrol engine which comes with a manual gearbox and an AMT automatic

The other engine is something new for a Toyota as it gets a boosterjet turbo petrol and is the first Toyota to get a turbo petrol unit. This powertrain comes with a 6 speed automatic with paddle shifters and a 5 speed manual as well.

The Urban Cruiser Taisor is the most affordable crossover and slots below the Hyryder.

Prices start at Rs 7.7 lakh for the 1.2 petrol while the 1.0 turbo petrol starts from Rs 10.5 lakh.
