New Delhi: New cars are getting high demand but it is surprising as to how quickly cars are getting sold out in India- notably in the luxury segment. The Skoda Kodiaq and the Toyota Hilux are both based in the premium space with the Kodaiq being a luxury SUV and the Hilux being a pick up truck. Both are reported to be sold out for now with no fresh bookings being taken as told officially.

It means that the Skoda Kodiaq has been sold out for this year with the initial batch of SUVs selling out in a short time. The Kodiaq has been launched with three trims- Style, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement with prices starting at Rs 34.99 lakh starting.

The response to the new Kodiaq suggests that demand for such a luxury SUV was there and the three-row Kodiaq fulfills that. The new Kodiaq comes with a petrol engine and numerous features.

We do not know when fresh bookings of the car will start but the first batch is sold out which means deliveries for the current batch will take place within 3-4 months. When fresh bookings will start, the deliveries would be starting from next year only.

The other car is the Hilux which has not had even its price revealed but Toyota is no longer accepting bookings for this car due to high demand currently. The Hilux is on sale in India with a 2.8l diesel with both manual plus automatic options while the Hilux sold in India is in double cab configuration.

While prices have not been revealed for the Hilux, bookings have now been stopped for the pick-up truck. The booking amount for the Hilux has been kept at Rs 1 lakh. The Hilux too does not have any competition with the only rival being the Isuzu V-Cross which is cheaper and not as well equipped.
