Car-makers are readying a large number of new SUVs for launch in 2023 and a lot of them are in the volume-driven space below the Rs 15 lakh mark. In this article, we tell what is coming and when with numerous SUVs planned for below the 4m space and just above that as well.


Citroen C3 Aircross


Citroen is readying its 7-seater made-for-India and designed-for-India SUV and it will be a 4m plus 7-seater SUV. The positioning would be interesting in combining MPV practicality within an SUV silhouette. The C3 Aircross is based on the C3 and will sport styling like the C5 Aircross and also a mixture of the C3. The interiors would be spacious as well while it will get a 1.2l turbo petrol with manual and automatic options. Citroen will showcase the car soon and launch it later this year.




Honda SUV (Elevate?)


Honda will finally enter the SUV party with its designed-for-India SUV based on the City platform. The SUV will debut around the middle of this year and will get the City petrol engine at the start though there will not be a hybrid option most likely. Honda will launch the hybrid version later while at the start, it will get the SUV with the 1.5l automatic and manual versions. The SUV will rival the Creta and will get no diesel engine while it might get ADAS features as well. The launch is planned for the festive season while the reveal is around the middle of the year.




Hyundai micro SUV


Hyundai will launch an SUV smaller than the Venue and aimed at the micro SUV space in India. The new SUV will sport styling cues influenced by the latest Hyundai design language while it is based on the Nios. The new SUV will most likely come with features like connected car tech and more. It will also most likely get a 1.2l petrol engine like the Nios and will have AMT plus manual gearbox options. It will rival the likes of the Punch.




 


Kia Seltos facelift


The new Seltos is crucial for Kia and will come with a 1.5l turbo petrol engine. The new Seltos will come with a new grille and redesigned LED headlamps along with new alloy wheels as well. The rear styling also gets new tail lamps and a new tailgate design. The biggest change is on the inside with a new touchscreen, instrument cluster and possibly a panoramic sunroof being added to the equipment list as well. It will also get ADAS features.
