Tata Punch EV Vs Nexon EV: Key Feature Differences Between Top Models

The new Punch EV will slot in below the Nexon EV but some key differences need to be explained in terms of features along with the obvious difference in range plus battery pack. Here, we tell you what the top-end Punch EV gets along with the top-end Nexon EV.

Design Differences

Let us start with the fact that the Punch EV is based on their new gen Ev architecture called acti.ev and that will underpin future Tata models. The Punch EV is smaller but the front end has nearly the same full-width LED light bar and the bumper design is also similar. That said, there is a big difference with the charging flap of the Punch EV being at the front and not like the Nexon EV. Both designs get a vertical slat while the silver finish skid plate is different in size in both. The rear styling though has differences as unlike the Nexon EV, there is no full-width light bar at the rear. Finally, there is the 'frunk' that the Punch EV has. 

Feature Differences

The interior design is similar in both cars but there are differences with the Punch being the smaller one of course. The Nexon EV has a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen vs the 10.25-inch unit of the Punch. The digital instrument cluster looks to be the same in size being a 10.25-inch unit. What is a huge thing is the Punch EV's features which bring something new for a car of this size. The Punch EV gets the Arcade EV app suite, 360-degree camera, sunroof and even ventilated seats. Plus like the Nexon EV, there is also a powered handbrake- something which cars at this point do not have. There is also the new look Tata steering wheel with an illuminated logo. The Nexon EV does get rear AC vents and it remains to be seen whether the Punch EV gets it.

Battery And Range

Where there are obvious differences is with the battery and range with these two with the Punch EV likely to have a range figure between 300-400 while the Nexon EV has an official range figure of 465km. It seems the Punch EV is a value-for-money EV while also packed to the brim with features while the Nexon EV is more of a spacious flagship EV for Tata right now in terms of size and range.
